Bingo Superstitions

Bingo is a game that is based entirely on chance. As such, many players believe that luck has a lot to do with determining the outcome of the game. So, they've developed some interesting superstitions over the years to help them win, as is the case with all lottery, gambling and casino games.

Lucky charms are a popular commodity, as 10% of all bingo players admit to carrying at least one when playing. Just like students carry a lucky pencil or have a lucky necklace, some bingo players - both online and offline-carry some sort of good luck charm.

Some players even have lucky seats in land-based bingo halls. Players will leave their house an extra hour early to get there before anyone else and secure the seat that they feel brings them the most luck. Whether or not the seat actually has magically luck-bearing powers, one thing is certain: players feel comfortable in that seat, affecting their mood and making the game ultimately more enjoyable.

Bingo players also make a habit of choosing bingo cards that bear their lucky numbers, while others avoid choosing cards with number they associate with bad luck. Some other interesting superstitions involve colours, as wearing black is believed to be bad luck. Some players are also weary about lending money, because they may give some of their luck away, while others would rather go out and buy a new dauber than borrow from another player, as some players believe bad luck is transferred through daubers.
